Burlesque

You know you have a good boyfriend when he agrees (after minimal pleading) to see a movie with you that stars both Cher and Christina Aguilera.

Can't wait to see Christina sing!

  1. I saw TMZ refer to that film as Showgirls II. Of course, there are two or three scenes in Showgirls that are well worth watching.

  2. lol I don't know how Showgirls II it can be if it's only PG-13. Didn't that movie have two ratings--R for the theater and then NC-17 for the uncut version? Maybe I'm making that up. I sure hope it's not like Showgirls (not that I've seen the movie). At least there's singing in it, right? :-\

  3. I don't recall any singing in Showgirls, but I think TMZ (bastion of truth and accuracy that it is) was referring more to the glitz and glamor and hullabaloo and campiness and probably what they expect its box-office reception to be and just generally being bitchy.

I'm sure Burlesque will be much more fun for you than Showgirls. Just let me know if there's any lap dancing. Might give it a shot when it comes on cable.

  4. And I think you're right about the ratings thing.

Yeesh. I'm always making with the pee-esses and afterthoughts and oversights and stuff.

  5. As long as there is always an ess with your pee, we're good.

BTW, Burlesque was good and tastefully done; it kind of almost made me want to be a burlesque dancer, but it mostly made me miss the times I was dancing or singing on stage years and years ago. And Christina's singing always makes me tear up because she's so damned good.

  6. I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. Christina's music isn't generally my cup of tea, but she does have a strong and beautiful voice. And bottom. Which would be perfect for lap dancing. Such a waste.
